Trio spark Redskins
Getting back into the swing of things
    Nathan Downing shot a 44 Tuesday to help Arcadia claim a quadrangular and carded a 41 Thursday in the Redskins’ triangular win. The victories came after Arcadia suffered its first loss of the year Monday. Arcadia entered the weekend 19-1 overall and 5-1 in the Blanchard Valley Conference.
FINDLAY — Arcadia’s top three scorers shot sub-40s Thursday as the Redskins stormed past Arlington 153-173 in a triangular at Red Hawk Run. Leipsic shot a 178.
Patrick Coward gave the Redskins (19-1 overall, 5-1 Blanchard Valley Conference) a medalist round of 36.
Julian Piña fired a 37, Aaron Lynch shot a 39 and Nathan Downing had a 41 for Arcadia.
Craig Meyer’s 42 led Leipsic (8-6, 2-4), while Arlington (10-4, 4-2) got twin 41s from Chris Bils and Cole McMath.

Chipping on
    St. Wendelin’s Patrick McNinch chips onto the green during Tuesday’s quadrangular with Arcadia, Cardinal Stritch and Bettsville. McNinch led the Mohawks with a 42, but St. Wendelin finished third behind Arcadia and Cardinal Stritch. He shot a 42 two days later to help St. Wendelin claim a triangular from New Riegel and Mohawk
Mohawks bunch it up in triangular
TIFFIN — St. Wendelin’s first three scorers were as good or better than the top player Thursday of New Riegel and Mohawk, allowing the Mohawks to claim a triangular at Seneca Hills.
The Mohawks (10-5) beat New Riegel 171-180, with Mohawk shooting a 200.
Duncan Campbell paced St. Wendelin with a medalist round of 40. Patrick McNinch shot a 42, Josh Kinn carded a 43 and Jacob Ginnever had a 46.
The runner-up Blue Jackets (5-8) got a 43 from Brooks Hall, 44 from Alex Acree, 45 from Mitch Reinhart and a 48 from Brent Orians.
Angelo Anese of Mohawk (2-11) shot a 43.

Sixth sense of victory
Brandon Hoelzer teed off Thursday as the No. 6 golfer for Fremont Ross, but ended the day atop the leaderboard to guide the Little Giants to a triangular win at Loudon Meadows.
Hoelzer carded a medalist round of 40 to key Ross (7-0) to a 166-184 win over Hopewell-Loudon, with Old Fort taking third with a 189.
Dan Romanko’s 42 topped H-L (7-8). Brennen Schleter shot a 44 for the Chieftains, Codee Adams had a 47 and Eric Arbogast ended with a 51.
Roman Ream shot a 42 for Old Fort (5-9).

Redskins get back to winning ways
Arcadia suffered its first loss Monday, but got back in the winning groove Tuesday by in a quad at Loudon Meadows.
Patrick Coward fired a medalist round of 36 to push the Redskins (17-1) past Cardinal Stritch 161-166. St. Wendelin took third (181), followed by Bettsville (209).
Julian Piña added a 40 for Arcadia, Aaron Lynch shot a 41 and Nathan Downing had a 44.
Alex Steinbrenner’s 39 led Cardinal Stritch.
Patrick McNinch topped St. Wendelin (8-5) with a 42. Duncan Campbell and J.D. Nye each shot a 45 and Ryan Kinn ended with a 49.
Bettsville got a 46 from Dominic Miccichi. Andrew Hartsel had a 51, Troy Blausey tallied a 53 and Jon Miller and Ryan Hartsel each had a 59.
